HISTORY 

 One of the district of Uttarakhand , which is famous among tourists for it's religious importance ,  panaromic view's of hill station , and adventures activities lies around 6,800 feet  above sea level . According to various Hindu scriptures , the places got it's name from "Goddess Parvati" . Here the word "NAINI" (eyes) and "TAL" (lake) , the Nani lake which is the central attraction now a day's was the place  where eye's of Goddess Parvati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying him after her self sacrifice . 


The discovery of Nainital as a hill station was done by  P. Barron,  a British sugar trader who decided to established  a European  settlement . Nainital slowly become summer capital  of province (now day's  Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh ) , Britisher's built churches , school , colonial style building .  The British government played a crucial role in promoting Nainital as a hill station  and tourist destination , which also affected the economy of the place positively .

1.THE NURTURED  NAINA DEVI TEMPLE 



This heaven for Religious visitors and tourists  is located in Bilaspur District of Uttarakhand at a distance of 60km from District and  at a height of 1219 m from the sea level . The nearest railway station  to temple is Anandpur railway's from where the places is just 35 km  away . The Naina devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga . This is among one of the 51 Shakti  peeth's  where parts of goddess Sati fell , when Lord Shiva was carrying her . Naina  devi temple offer peace and calmness to the visitor's and devotees . The elegant design and architecture of the temple beautifully depicts the culture and picture's of different god .   The temple among the first choice of visitor's during Navratri to seek blessing's and to present their love for Goddess Durga



2. THE TRANQUIL TIFFIN TOP




The places that is located at a height of 2290m from sea level is also called Dorothy's seat , located in Nainital District   and famous among tourists as "Tiffin Top " . Dorothy's kellet an English artist who visited Nainital and constructed a seat in remembrance of her husband  Mr. George William  Barron Kellet . Tiffin Top provide a remarkable panoramic view of Himalayan mountain covered with Maple , Pine , Fir trees and towns along with Nainital lake . The Dorothy's seat is situated on Ayarpatta Hill which  helps to watch memorizing sunrise and sunset scene also , that are the few reasons why it is among the famous places or view points to visit  , on journey to Nainital . 

Best way to reach the place is through Trekking , from Mallital to Ayarpatta Hill which will approximately take 50 min .  If one is not interested in walking then you can prefer hiring a pony and a horse  from Mallital itself to continue your journey to Tiffin Top . Instead of above mentioned options , Dorothy's seat is approachable by own vehicle , rented vehicle and public transport .

Located in Mallital area of Nanital District  the Eco Cave Park is just 2-3km away from Doroth'y seat (Tiffin Top) . The Eco Cave Park is famous among visitors dur to it's talking tree which will welcome you at the entery , the interconnected caves  ,  natural beauty  and  activities like ziplining and air cycling . 

The cool environment of caves and sound effects of different animals will provide ytou a real time experience of exploring  a natural cave .  The dark and narrow ways of cave can be slippery and scary but will not fail to give you a real thrill .

4.THE NATURAL NAINITAL ZOO










The Nainital zoo remain closed on Thursday , Holi and Diwali

The famous Nainital zoo known as GB Pant High Altitude Zoo is a 11.34 acres tourists attraction , situated at height of 2,100m from sea level . The Zoo was established in 1984 and named after Indian freedom fighter and chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh , Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant . The eye catchy entery of the zoo along with artificial               waterfall and green lushy view  looks pleasant . 

 Through Tallital bus stand which is the nearest one and by private vehicle the Nainital Zoo is just at  a distance of 2km away .The Nainital Zoo is a house of different flora and fauna like sambhar deer, siberian tiger, snow leopard , Himalayan black bear, wolf and various species of birds which will deliver you immense excitation and joyfulness . The Zoo also offer canteen facility . 


One of the most unique feature that i myself liked very much is the  animal adopting scheme  of the Nainital Zoo ( GB Pant High Altitude Zoo )  . This scheme provide facilities like free entery to the the family of the person who adopted an animal , relaxation in income tax is provided under article 80G ,  zoo calendar and annual reports will be provided to the adoptee .

5. THE ROYAL RAJ BHAVAN GOVERNOR HOUSE




A short distance of 4km from GB Pant High Altitude Zoo  via NH109  will take you to the heaven of Victorian Gothic styled architecture , which was constructed in 1899 as the summer house of the Governor of united provinces now day's  Uttarakhand . At 2,100m from sea level , between the forests of pine, maple , fir the Raj Bhavan becomes so mesmerizing that you will not be able to ignore it . Just at a cost of of ₹50 you can take insight of 113 luxurious room including glass room and swimming pool , after that you can play golf in the golf court that is surrounded by lush green trees and prettified panoramic view for just ₹450 .

1.BHIMTAL




 




After 22km of ride from beautiful mountain's through curvy roads you will experience peace and calmness along with cool breeze in Bhimtal lake . The Bhimtal is located at height of 1,380m from the sea level . Bhimtal  lake is much larger in size as compared to Naini lake and lies in the foot of gigantic mountain  covered with high rising palm , maple trees . The famous attraction of this lake aquarium cafe present on a small island that is approchable by boats located in the between the Bhimtal lake .  Here you can enjoy your meal and click pictures . 




2. NAUKUC HIATAL 






After exploring Bhimtal and its famous cafe you should visit Naukuchiatal which is just 4km away from Bhimtal .  A similar  water body but with adventurous  activities like  water zorbing , kayaking , ziplining the place will succeed to make a place in your heart . Here in monsoon season you can see the panoramic cloud's covering the top of mountain and floating over the lake which will  make you feel of heaven on land . Naukuchital lake also offer a place for destination wedding aslo called  the lake resort of Naukuchital . 


3. SAT TAL








At a distance of 13km from Bhimtal lake another water body called sattal is located . Sat tal literally means water " seven Lakes" , this lake is the best place to visit to during the time of  full season because of over crowdedness of other lakes . Sattal also provide you similar activities as other lakes offer . 


7. THE KARMIC KAINCHI DHAM TEMPLE 



The one of the  most visited Religious place near Nainital is Kainchi Dham  which is nearly 17km from the district Nainital . The Neem Karoli Temple is situated in Kainchi village near river kosi . The Kainchi Dham is easily accessible by buses through Nainital bus stand that is at a distance of 18km and by private vehicle also . The Neem Karoli Temple is associated with saint Neem Karoli Baba , who's original name was Lakshmi Narayan Sharma . He himself established his ashram and temple in mid 20th century .
