1.  THE GRACIOUS GUCCHUPANI ROBBER'S CAVE

Timing : 7am -6pm

The places of Dehradun which is famous among visitor's and tourists due to it's beauty , natural rocks and water streams . The Gucchupani Robber's cave got it's unique name from the local folklore which is passed through generations , believing that the cave is used as hideout by the robber's and bandits . The Gucchupani robber cave widely known as robber's cave offer's you the desired thrill and experience of real cave , where you can feel darkness, heavy water streams and rocky mountain . Wider at start , the cave grew  narrow as we moves in ,, which will deliver you at a waterfall point from where you can enjoy falling water pearls on your body . 

The months of (March to June) in summers and ( October to February) in winter is one of  the best time to visit the cave .    The place Dehradun will quench the thrust of your sole  with its views , water streams and naturally cool climate . 

2.  THE MAGNETIC MINDROLLING MONASTERY

The colourful and vibrant place , Mindrolling Monastery is about  10km from the district Dehradun of Uttarakhand .  Monasteries are basically the place where spiritual , meditation practices and religious teachings are given . The mindrolling monastery carries an interesting past . The past of it's destruction in Tibet and reconstruction in India due to political turmoil .  Mindrolling monastery that was built in 1676 by Rigzin Terdak Lingpa   is a part of six main monasteries of Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism and are collectively known as (Six Mother Monasteries) . 

The monastery in Dehradun is known for it's stunning architecture , that beautifully blends colors with Buddhist culture . It attracts people towards its culture , designs and promote it's teachings , learning's . 

3. THE  DESIRABLE  DEHRADUN ZOO

Between the beautiful mountain ranges , the Dehradun Zoo provides you a good opportunity to spent time with family and friends during any season .  Just after 11 km from Dehradun one can approach Dehardun zoo which is 1400feet from the sea level  . The zoo was earlier known as Malsi Deer Park which was started with 3 spotted deer , 1 goral, 2barkng deer , 3 peafowl and 5 budgerigar as a rescue center of animals and birds . After period of time Malsi Deer Park upgraded to a mini zoo under wildlife protection Act , 1972 . The zoo has various in build houses for different ,broadly classified species of animal for example snake house , aquarium world etc. These houses displays various species of snakes, fishes , reptiles including rock python , iguana , oscar fish, gold fish , vine snake etc . 

Dehradun Zoo , the place where you can enjoy animals  watching along with nature walks also has a cactus garden that display's various varities of cactus plants from different part of world . Especially for the children ,  play garden is present in the zoo with different swings and canteen also . 

4. THE  WONDERFUL WATERFALL'S

•  Shikhar waterfall

At a distance of 13km from Dehradun Shikhar waterfall can be easily approached by rented vehicle or by own vehicle . This natural fall is present at height of 4,500feet from the sea level . The clear water flowing through mountain from lush green bushes provide a satisfaction and enjoyment . The visitor's can enjoy the scenic view of the place , especially for the nature lover the place is like a heaven that had  came to Earth .

• Maldevta waterfall

At a minimum distance of 2km from Shikhar fall and 15km from Dehradun district , this popular and less discovered waterfall called Maldevta fall is present . Being less discovered  the place offer's unique isolation and beautiful stream of water with a width of 15 m . The place where you can do camping , picnic with friend's  and family . Located in the foot of verdant green mountains Maldevta fall can steal any one's heart . 

5. THE FANATASTIC FOREST REASEARCH INSTITUTE 

The place that is famous among tourists due to it's Greco-Roman colonial style architecture , is located at 7km from Dehradun and has a total land area of 2,000 acres  is known as Forest Research Institute . The attractive building of the department is one of the major reasons why visitor's love to visit this place . Along with  the  seductive building and lovely wide green garden the institute also focuses on educating the visitor's  about forests through six different type of inbuilt museums .

The FRI ( Forest Research Institute) was established during British colonial rule in 1906  in Dehradun , Uttarakhand . The Institute was initially known as British Imperial Forest Research Institute Research Institute , that was constructed under the supervision of Sir Dietrich Brandis ( considered as the father of tropical forestry) . 

6. THE TAPKESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE

Especially for the Hindu devotee's the temple called Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the most famous and visited religious place in Dehradun , due to it's historical facts and the natural cave . The fact that is famous about the cave and the temple is that , the Shiva Linga in temple  is formed naturally by the drip of water dripping since centuries , which is considered sacred by the devotee's . The temple is located at a distance of 7.5km from the district Dehradun , at height of 1,800meter from sea level along the river tons . 

The Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple is believed to be the one oldest Hindu temple which is devoted to Lord Shiva in that region . The temple got it's name from Hindu word Tapkana (to drip) . It is believed that this was the place where Guru Dronacharya use to live and had a son (Ashwatthama) from his wife named Kripi ( Kirpai) .

7. THE LOVELY LACCHIWALLA NATURE PARK

One of the best nature park i have visited in Northern India is the Lachhiwala Nature Park , located at a distance of 19km from Dehradun . The park is spread across 18 acres , that include beautiful picturesque monuments , lovely environment , musical fountain and an artificial pool where visitors can enjoy cool water bath . One of the best place to relax and destress yourself  is the Lachhiwala nature park , where green trees , serene atmosphere with cool breeze makes you calm and take you close to mother nature . 

The Lachhiwala nature park offer's both picnic spot for family and long nature walks for couples . For kids also the park has various activities and different swings , where they can enjoy every single moment of their childhood .  The nature park helps to promote , conserve and showcase the culture , dresses , natural vegetation , tools and many more things related to state of Uttarakhand .
